Yesterday MacRumors received several reports from readers that their Retina MacBook Pro shipping times have been delayed. The weird part is that most of these customers purchased their new MacBook on launch day…
The new Retina MacBooks are those which had been purchased through Apple’s enterprise site, and in some cases were delayed up to a month!
Here’s one of the emails received:
Dear Apple Customer,
Thank you for your recent order.
Purchase Order#: xxxxxxxxxx
Sales Order#: xxxxxxxxxx
Ship-to Zip Code: xxxxxDue to an unexpected delay, we are unable to ship the following item(s) by the date that you were recently quoted:
Z0ML, MBP 15.4/CTO
will now ship on or before
Jul 25, 2012Please note that product availability can change rapidly, and it is possible that your order may ship much sooner than we anticipate. You may even receive a shipment confirmation between the time we send this email and the time that you read it.
There’s no word on what is causing these month-long delays. MacRumors points out that all of the delays were happening with New Retina MacBooks nearly maxed out with specifications including the whopping 768GB SSD storage.
It’s no surprise shipping times would be slipping, but you’d think those who ordered on launch day would have their shiny new MacBook by now.
Was your Retina MacBook delayed?
