Recently, I was able to pour flour, ketchup, tomato soup, and water all over my new iPad. No I’m not crazy (contrary to popular belief), I was using the new LifeProof nüüd case. This is the only case you’ll ever need for your iPad.
This new iPad case is nothing short of amazing. It’s actually a pretty genius idea. An everything proof case that doesn’t have a built in screen protect. It really blew my mind at first, but once I got to know the details about it a bit more, everything started to make sense.
First let me start by saying, this is the best iPad case I’ve ever seen. It may not be slim, but it’s probably the best thing you can get to protect your iPad investment aside from Apple Care Plus.
The LifeProof nüüd case creates a waterproof seal using the iPad’s front glass and an O-ring. Like I said, genius. Overall the case is super protective, but not as bulky as you’d imagine. It’s also compatible with iPad 2 and the new iPad.
Here’s the specifications from LifeProof’s webstie:
Dimensions: 10.4in x 8.2in x 0.8in / 265mm x 208mm x 20.5mm
Weight: 0.7lbs / 310gms
Water Proof: Fully submerge to 6.6 feet / 2 meters for 30 minutes
Shock Proof: Designed to withstand drops from 4 feet / 1.2 meters
Dirt Proof: Totally sealed from dirt and dust particles to the IP-68 rating
Snow Proof: Fully enclosed to keep out all melting snow and ice to the IP-68 rating

I can’t say enough good things about this case. I was able to torture my iPad as you can see in the above video, and it didn’t die. The tests that I put this case through, are far beyond and normal everyday situation. Even with all of that, LifeProof’s nüüd case took the torture and handled it like a boss.
Dislike
There are two things that while I don’t have a problem with, I have to speak out for some who may. The price is a bit high. the case is $129.99, but it also does offer tank-like protection. The second concern would be the lack of a built in screen protector. But it’s important to note that Zagg makes a Lifeproof approved screen protector that works great with this case. Problem solved.
Final Thoughts
If you’re going to spend $30 to $40 here and there on iPad cases throughout its life, why not just buy one and be done with it. One case to rule them all … That’s what I think about the LifeProof nüüd case.
