Next week, Apple is having one more keynote to unveil a few more products. The iPad mini is expected rumored to make its debut, along with new iMacs and the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. Like the 15-inch Retina MacBook, the 13-inch version is expected to come at a premium over the standard models.
As 9to5Mac notes:
Based on wholesale prices we’ve received, we believe the entry model 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro will cost roughly $1699 at launch while the higher specc’ed model will cost $300 more making the $2000 price point likely …
… It sounds like the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro will have a 2560×1600 pixel display (the same as a 30-inch Cinema Display) with the effective area being the same as the 1280×800 screens as the current MacBook Pros when used in pixel-doubled Retina mode. We don’t yet have other specs on the Retina Pro configuration but will update as that information comes in.
Based on these pricing estimates, I think the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro is going to be a big seller like it’s older 15-inch brother. I think pretty much everything Apple released this year has been in high demand, and I would expect no less from the products being announced next week.
