Today all three of Apple’s U.S. carrier partners announced the release of the iPad mini and fourth generation iPad with LTE. The tablets are now available to purchase and will also have a limited stock at Apple Stores nationwide.
AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint have announced that the sales begin today. If you’re looking to pick up an iPad mini, I’d go wait in line out in fron of your carrier’s store. I’m sure there will be a limited quantity of these. Furthermore, you’d be better off buying if from your carrier as Apple Stores are slim to none at the moment.
MacRumors explains:
Most of Apple’s retail stores do not open until 10:00 AM, but some readers have received reports from employees already on-site indicating that availability is very limited, and one reader reports that the company’s 24-hour flagship store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan does not have any LTE iPad mini models at the moment.
I’ve said it before, but I don’t see the point in me purchasing and LTE iPad mini. I have an iPhone 5 and can tether my device to anything that has Wi-Fi. Therefore, any device I own is LTE by means of Personal Hotspot in the Settings app.
