For some unknown reason, Apple pushed out a revised build of iOS 5.1.1 for the GSM iPhone 4 (AT&T). If you’re already on iOS 5.1.1 you can politely ignore this secret update.
If you may be installing this update, read on…
There’s been no word on what exactly was fixed in this updated version, and like I said it only applies to iPhone 4 GSM. But if you do find, BuildĀ 9B208 and update, you’ll hurt your chances of jailbreaking. Some of our readers have reported that after upgrading to BuildĀ 9B208, they are unable to to use the recently released Absinthe V2 tool.
We don’t have any information if this update patches any exploits used in the iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak, but we’ll keep you posted as we find out. The reason Absinthe may not work could simply be caused by a red flag in the Absinthe tool because the build is not recognized. This may be fixed by a simple update to the Absinthe tool from the Chronic Dev Team.
Stick around for updates…
