Over the past few weeks, I've been building the ultimate Mac mini. We've covered upgrading the RAM, SSD choices, and cloning the HDD, but today, we're installing a speedy solid state drive! On this episode of Building The Ultimate Mac mini, we're taking a look at the Kingston HyperX 3K SSD. This is a beastly solid state drive that can achieve read and write speeds well over 500MB/s. Today we're kicking off the first episode of Building The Ultimate Mac mini. We're going to perform a 16GB RAM upgrade to a 2012 Mac mini. Installing RAM in the 2012 27-inch iMac is very easy. There's a small hatch on the back of the iMac that can be opened by pushing a button located beneath the power connector cable. Check out my RAM installation video above for a detailed look at the process.
