One of the best parts of a new Apple release is iFixit’s famous teardown articles. Recently, an iPhone 5 teardown has surfaced. It’ not from the folks over at iFixit, but very interesting to look at…
German site iPhone-Garage got their hands on an iPhone 5 and decided to gut it. It’s probably not the first thing I’m going to do when my iPhone 5 arrives, but I have to say, it’s pretty amazing to see how this new iPhone is packed full of components.
MacRumors notes:
As had been previously seen in leaked photos, the battery and logic board have swapped sides and the headphone jack has been moved to the bottom, resulting in significant changes to the overall layout. The move to a taller and thinner body has also pushed Apple toward other innovations such as the new Lightning connector in order to achieve a design that is 18% thinner and 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S.
So if you’re looking for a detailed teardown of the iPhone 5, I’d check back tomorrow for the official one from iFixit.
