We can finally use Passbook at Starbucks now. The coffee giants finally updated their app to support Passbook in iOS 6, but the funny thing is, why push out an update without scaling it to fit the iPhone 5?
I’m not sure I understand Starbucks’ logic. Wouldn’t you want to push out a compatibility update for iPhone 5 as well as Passbook? It just doesn’t make much sense. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they finally brought this feature Apple has been advertising since the Passbook preview, but it’s sad that the iPhone 5 gets no love.
We recently made a video demonstrating Passbook:
As MacRumors notes:
Starbucks customers can use its app to store gift cards and use QR codes on the phone to quickly pay for food and drinks without needing cash or credit cards. Additionally, the company keeps track of purchases for its rewards program…
…Other apps using Passbook include Ticketmaster, Fandango, American Airlines, United Airlines, Lufthansa, Major League Baseball, Eventbrite, and McDonalds (as a limited test in France).
If you’d like to download the freeĀ Starbucks app to add it to your Passbook, you can do so by using this link to the App Store.
