The widely popular Adobe Photoshop will soon make its debut on iPad! Adobe has finally jumped on board with a decent photo editing suite for tablets.
The only thing thy had similar to this (but not sufficient enough), was Photoshop Express. This provided minimal functionality for basic, and I mean BASIC photo editing. Photoshop Touch is about to rock the tablet world of photo editing providing a majority of the tools you’re used to seeing in the traditional desktop application.
This is big news for those like myself who rely on photo editing as a daily task! I also can’t wait to see how this functions on a Retina display packed iPad 3 Right now Photoshop Touch isn’t available on the App Store yet, but should be within the next few days.
The app is currently available for Android and we can’t help to wonder if it has anything to do with Adobe’s long-time feud with Apple, as to why Android gets this amazing app first. This application is strictly iPad 2 at the moment but we can’t help to assume that it will support the iPad 3 when the next generation tablet is announced. This app will be such a joy to use on a nice high res Retina display!
Adobe recently announced Photoshop Touch stating,
“The new Adobe® Photoshop® Touch app lets you quickly combine images, apply professional effects, share the results with friends and family through social networking sites like Facebook, and more”
This thing is packed with features! You can even import photos from Google directly within the app and take pictures with the iPad 2’s camera!
Just to name a few:
- Combine multiple images with layers.
- Choose images from multiple sources, including social sites like Facebook
- Share to Facebook
- Interactive Tutorials
- A wide variety of Selection Tools
- Apply popular Photoshop effects and filters
- Photoshop compatible file format
- Tone and color adjustment
For a complete run-down of features and functionality check out Adobe’s Website.
We are really looking forward to this making it’s way to the App Store soon. It will definitely change how mobile and regular photography is edited. The best part about this is the Photoshop Touch will only be $9.99!Check out the video below to see an overview of the new baby in the Adobe family!
