Apple Campus 2 Plans Show Giant Underground Auditorium For Future Releases And Conferences

A recently released set of high resolution technical drawings released by The City of Cupertino shows some exciting new features added to Apple’s upcoming ring-shaped Campus 2 facility. The documents outline the iSpaceship building, including a massive underground auditorium where Apple will hold future releases and media events…

If you thought that Apple’s media events in the past were amazing wait until Apple’s Campus 2 opens up sometime in 2015.

The following is the list of drawings and plans just released by The City Of Cupertino concerning Apple’s Campus 2 facility.

Apple’s campus 2 facility will not replace their main corporate headquarters but rather it will be used as a research facility and office space for an additional 13,00 employees, as well as hold an additional 300,000 square feet for future growth.

While the entire layout of the Campus 2 is stunning and beautiful, one of the most exciting details outlined in the plans is the inclusion of a massive underground auditorium where Apple will likely hold keynotes and media events come 2015.

Here’s the auditorium.

To accommodate the people who will fill the auditorium, Apple plans to build a giant underground parking garage that will house a whopping 4,300 vehicles.

The design of the Campus 2 facility was so massive and so intricate that it took four architectural design studios to put the plans together. London’s Fosters + Partners, SanFransisco’s Arup North America, Santa Clara’s Keir ans Wright, and Philadelphia based OLIN Lanscape Architecture and Urban Design were all a part of the overall design process.

If these plans are legit, than Apple’s Campus 2 facility could be talked about for generations like we still talk about the Roman Coliseum.

Thoughts?
