Apple Finally Resolves the “Antennagate” Issue that Plagued many iPhone 4 Users

Do any of you remember back when the iPhone 4 was released, many users complained of having massive signal issues while holding their new baby iPhone a certain way.

Well at first this issue was ignored and blown off, telling users to simply, “not hold your phone in that manner”. Personally I think that was COMPLETELY unacceptable, and I am quite the Apple fan-boy. Apple continued to ignore the issue for quite some time until some class action lawsuits started popping up. Even consumers have complained the iPhone 4S deals with the same issues but per an investigation by Consumer Reports, this has been verified as untrue.

The good news is that Apple has finally come to a settlement on the Antennagate issue offering iPhone 4 users a free Bumper Case or $15. Some may not feel that this is adequate enough to fix the constant signal issues that plagued users over the expanded time period while Apple ignored the issue. But for the most part consumers seem to be responding well to the settlement.

CNET recently reported that Apple had finally reached a settlement on the Antennagate issue stating,

“Apple was misrepresenting and concealing material information in the marketing, advertising, sale, and servicing of its iPhone 4–particularly as it relates to the quality of the mobile phone antenna and reception and related software.”

CNET said the recent settlement came for 18 separate Class Action Lawsuits combined into one.

Apparently Apple is going to send out emails to all original US iPhone 4 users by April 30th with information to take advantage of this settlement offer, so keep checking your inbox until then. Though it remains uncertain how Apple will settle the score on international iPhone 4 users.

Did you ever experience the “Antennagate” issue on your iPhone 4?
