Apple Fires Manager Responsible For Maps

Apple has been shaking up its management lately. Apparently the manager responsible for the problems with iOS 6 Maps was given the boot today. This news comes via Bloomberg with some of the details regarding this sudden change.

Bloomberg reports:

Richard Williamson, who oversaw the mapping team, was fired by Senior Vice President Eddy Cue, said the people, who asked not to be named because the information wasn’t yet public. Cue, who took over last month as part of a management shakeup, is seeking advice from outside mapping-technology experts and prodding digital maps provider TomTom NV to fix landmark and navigation data it shares with Apple.

Apple recently made plans to boot iOS chief Scott Forstall last month. Forstall will be leaving the company in 2013. Jony Ive and others on staff will be taking over Forstall’s responsibilities.
