Apple Launching New Online Store

The Online Apple Store is the easiest way to get your favorite Apple devices, but one thing I’ve always wondered is why it’s so cluttered… Just doesn’t seem like the cleanliness we’ve been used to with Apple products and main website. I always get an intimidated feeling when I click the “store” button. Seems like Apple should simplify the shopping process a bit, but that’s just my opinion.

According to AppleInsider, Apple is prepping an overhaul of their current online education store (K-12). There’s no word whether this change will reflect onto the regular online store, but it looks like the education department should see some changes in shopping Apple Online soon…

“Apple is launching a new online store, which is your tool to shop and place orders with Apple,” the note reads. “Proposal creation, order status, and a dramatically simplified user interface will make it easier to do business with Apple — all in a secure and reliable environment.”

This comes as no surprise to me, as Apple has had a highly motivated focus on education and school for a while now. With the recent launch of Textbooks for iBooks, Apple is really trying to revolutionize how we learn. They are trying to get more schools running Macs and iPads in the classrooms. A good example of this is my daughters school. Every classroom has a couple 27″ iMacs, and they also have a computer lab full of em,’ topped off with iPads for fun interactive ways to learn.

As noted by AppleInsider (click for screenshot), Apple also assures that “your current Apple ID and password will continue to work”, and that this overhaul should be happening “in the coming weeks”.

There’s no launch date set in stone yet, and we really don’t know exactly what these changes will bring. But one things for sure, these changes should make it easy enough so that your teacher isn’t the only one with an Apple. (Pun intended)
