MacRumors reports via BGR that carriers are now beginning to test the new nano-SIM standard for Apple ahead of the iPhone 5 launch. The new iPhone is expected to be released in October, and is rumored to be using a new nano-SIM card…
Multiple carrier sources have exclusively told BGR that Apple is supplying nano-SIM adapters so its carrier partners can test how nano-SIMs work on their networks in standard test devices before they are widely deployed when the new iPhone is introduced. This includes AT&T.
These new nano-SIMs are apparently set to be the new standard. Apple received approval for the nano-SIM cards last month, which leads us to believe they may be implementing these in the next iPhone.
Personally I don’t care what the SIM card looks like, as long as my iPhone works.
