Well looks like at least one Apple TV Jailbreak has hit the horizon before the end of March. The Apple TV 2 finally has a Jailbreak for iOS 5.1! FireCore just announced the new version of their Seas0nPass utility is iOS 5.1 ready…

So if you’ve been prolonging an Apple TV update, you can now confidently update your firmware and have a nice and fresh update with Jailbreak on your Apple TV 2! You’ll love the new interface, much cleaner! And now… Much better with Jailbreak. Check out FireCore’s Website for the update!

So far, only certain plugins are compatible with the new Jailbreak.

  • Maintenance (works)
  • Media Player (works)
  • NitoTV (works)
  • RSS Feeds (works)
  • Weather (works)
  • Overflow (not working)
  • Plex (not working)
  • Remote HD (not working)
  • Rowmote (not working)
  • XBMC (not working)

We can only hope that FireCore will release a Jailbreak for Apple TV 3 soon. We posted about this yesterday, and FireCore seems a little more confident than the rest of the Jailbreak community which kind of worries me. There are far less vulnerabilities in the New Apple TV 3.
