Looks like there’s more rumors in the mill.. Apparently Apple has failed to replenish stock for several Channel Partners selling the current model Apple TV.
Since we have recently heard rumors of a new Apple TV launching at next week’s Keynote, this indicates to us that those rumors may be materializing. Accoring to AppleInsider, there have been “delays” in partners receiving new stock. Partners have seen a steady decrease of the current Apple TV shipments coming in, and it’s becoming very noticeable.
“For three consecutive weeks, the Cupertino-based company has failed to make good on its promissory to restock indirect channel partners with fresh inventory of the existing $99 Apple TV product, say people familiar with matter.
Instead, partners and channel members have seen Apple push back deliveries each consecutive week by one additional week — a practice that almost always foreshadows a formal discontinuation of a product ahead of new models.”
So if these rumors and accusations are true, we are very likely to see a refresh on Apple TV at the Keynote next week on March 7th. The new Apple TV is rumored to have a new processor (possibly the A5 or A5X), full 1080p video capability, Bluetooth 4.0, a possible App Store, and full screen HD gaming integrated.
Only time will tell at this point as we wait out the remaining days until we see Apple’s innovations unveiled.
What do you think about the possible upgraded Apple TV?
