It’s only been a few months since the release of the iPhone 4S and there are already rumors swirling around again about the iPhone 5. The most recent rumor floating around YET AGAIN is that when apple decides to release the iPhone 5 later this year it will have a 4 inch screen which is a significant increase to its predicessors 3.5 inch screen.
Susquehanna Financial analyst Chris Caso states the subsequent iPhone is going to be released with a larger screen close to 4 inches in size. Considering the variety of Android smart phone manufacturers pushing for larger screens it would make sense for Apple to enhance the dimensions of the iPhone 5’s screen… Or would it?
The existing 3.5 inch screen is perfect for the user experience as well as obtaining the signature sleek and iconic look of an Apple product. Also since when has Apple ever let other companies dictate what they are going to do stylistically with their products?
It is possible that Apple will decide to increase the size of the screen on the next iPhone, but I am not convinced just yet. How many rumors like this have we heard before, and how many of them turn out to be true? I’m going to play the odds. My opinion, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”
