More great news involving a future iOS 5.1 jailbreak. If you accidentally updated to iOS 5.1.1, it looks like there’s still hope for you…
OK, tested on an iPad 3,1 running 5.1.1. Jailbroken untethered. 🙂 No issue.

pod2g just tweeted that everything is working fine with iOS 5.1.1 and his soon-to-be-released, untethered jailbreak. But according to a recent tweet from pod2g the public tool is still weeks away.
ETA for 5.1 jailbreak: look at my previous tweets. Some weeks away to have a nice, user friendly tool. No beta, sorry, even for $1,000,000.
Looks like he’s really protective over his baby. I don’t blame him either, they have worked really hard on this great accomplishment and need everything to be perfect for the release. But it’s great to know that a jailbreak is now only “weeks” away instead of months, years, etc…
Let’s just hope these exploits don’t get patched in iOS 6. (Which they probably will… bummer!) But according to pod2g, the jailbreak will be released in a public tool created by the ChronicDev Team.
