As some of you may know, there is not a Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 on A5 devices. Currently there is a tethered Jailbreak for A4 devices running iOS 5.1, but who wants to be tethered? If some of you jailbreakers jumped the gun and upgraded your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S to iOS 5.1
I give you my sympathy.
Because unknowingly, you ended up losing your Jailbreak. The iOS 5.1 release came out in full force with the exploits patched that allowed for Jailbreak with the Absinthe or Corona Jailbreak tools.
Well hope is on the horizon. In a Tweet yesterday, Pod2g, the infamous Jailbreak prodigy and iOS hacker commented, “I’m working actively on finding vulnerabilities in 5.1″. So hopefully it won’t be too long until we have a working iOS 5.1 Jailbreak. Maybe they can figure out one for the new iPad. Imagine all the possibilities with a device of that caliber…
This doesn’t mean the Jailbreak is even near completion but at least we know Pod2g’s got our back!
