Preorders For iPhone 5 Top Two Million In 24 Hours

Two million … Seriously.

Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, made the announcement:

“Phone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we’ve ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do.”

Apple sold out of their initial launch day stock in less than 24 hours on Friday Sept 14. That’s just crazy. It took the 4S 24 hours to reach only half of those numbers.

If you haven’t preordered the iPhone 5 yet, it looks like the shipping times are now set for 2 to 3 weeks from now. I’m sure this number will only rise, so order yours as soon as possible.
