As many of you may know, the iPhone 5 was announced yesterday. Apple newest smartphone knocks the 4S from the top spot, and puts the iPhone 4 at a lower level. But what about the 3GS?
According to Pocket-lint, Apple has confirmed the discontinuation of the iPhone 3GS. Once the stock runs out, the iPhone 4 will serve as the new free-on-contract iPhone.
The good news is, the iPhone 4 will serve as the new free-on-contact iPhone. 🙂
So if you’ve been looking to get an iPhone, but either don’t have a lot of cash, or didn’t want to mess with a 3GS, you’re in luck. If you’re not okay with missing out on fun features like Siri and an 8-megapixel camera, the iPhone 4S is now $99 on a contract upgrade.
Rest in peace iPhone 3GS, you were once a top dog.
