[Rumor] Photos Surface Of The iPhone 5 Battery In Its Rear Shell

With the iPhone 5 event literally around the corner, now is a better time than ever for more leaked photos. These photos show the next-generation iPhone’s battery installed in its rear shell…

The photos obtained by repair firm iResQ, show most of what we’ve seen in separate leaks of the iPhone 5 battery and rear shell, but someone actually decided to put them together. That’s always been my biggest annoyance. If we have all of these leaked iPhone 5 parts, why not join together and create one?

Below we see the iPhone 5’s battery next to one from an iPhone 4s.

According to iResQ:

Key differences between the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S battery:

  1. The iPhone 5’s battery is slightly less than a half an inch taller than the iPhone 4S. The thickness appears to be identical.
  2. The iPhone 5 is 3.8V/5.45Whr while the iPhone 4S is 3.7V/5.3Whr.
  3. The connector on the iPhone 5 is not only different, it is placed on the opposite side of the battery to accommodate its new position within the iPhone.

Like I said, this information is nothing new, but it’s sure fun to look at. Apple’s iPhone event is officially scheduled for September 12 in San Fransisco, CA.
