Guess what? Another fresh rumor coming your way. This one’s in from Bloomberg. We’ve heard all too much talk about a redesigned iPhone with a larger screen, but this one comes from sources with “knowledge of the plans”…
Bloomberg’s report states that Jobs worked “closely” with the new redesigned sixth-generation iPhone. The design is supposedly a complete overhaul from the iPhone 4 that was originally released in 2010. This rumor confirms previous stories we’ve heard about the new iPhone, but also states that Steve Jobs designed this one himself…
“Apple Inc. (AAPL) is preparing to overhaul the look of its iPhone, three people with knowledge of the plans said, refreshing the company’s top-selling product amid competition from rivals such as Samsung Electronics Co.
Apple, based in Cupertino, California, has placed orders from suppliers in Asia for screens that are bigger than the 3.5- inch size now on the smartphone, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren’t public. Apple co-founder Steve Jobs had worked closely on the redesigned phone before his death in October, one person said.
The design change will be Apple’s first for the iPhone since 2010, when it introduced the iPhone 4. Electronics makers, led by Samsung, are moving toward bigger screens, as consumers use handheld devices for a broader array of tasks, including watching video, playing games and browsing the Web.”
Very interesting news. The Wall Street Journal and iLounge have both weighed in with similar rumors. Interestingly enough, this completely contradicts the “facts” iMore reported. Could we be nearing factual evidence of the next iPhone? I’d love to see what Jobs envisioned as the new iPhone. I’m sure he has some scrap paper somewhere in Cupertino with some mockups…
The new iPhone is expected to debut in October, and only time will tell what this masterpiece will turn out to be.
Either way, I’m sure it’s going to be great!
