Today iOS hacker pod2g announced that ‘the new jailbreak‘ for iOS 5.1.1 and all A4 / A5 devices will be released in a “matter of days.” We now have a name said said jailbreak tool and it appears to be called Absinthe 2.0 following the first version that first made the iPhone 4S / iPad 2 jailbreak possible…
In a recent tweet from a hacker “close to” pod2g, xvolks gave more insight to the upcoming jailbreak tool.

Just hours later he posted the video mentioned in the tweet showing the “flawless” process of jailbreaking his device. The video quality is pretty bad, but since this team puts countless hours of workinto exploiting these devices for our benefit I think we can cut them some slack.
I’ve tested Absinthe v2 on my iPhone 4 GSM, iOS 5.1.1. It jailbroke it flawlessly.I’ve took a (bad) video of it 😉

The tool should be released by the Chornic Dev Team sometime this week. None of this is 100% certain, but it looks that way based on the facts we’ve gathered.
