Woman Sues Apple After Walking Into a Glass Door at an Apple Store

We just brought this up last night on our podcast, which you can subscribe to here. Hilarious if you ask me. This is going to be McDonald’s hot coffee all over again. First reported by CBS New York,  an 83-year old woman is suing Apple after walking into a glass door at the Manhassett Apple Store in Long Island, NY.

Evelyn Paswall is the victim. She apparently broke her nose while walking into a glass door and is now suing Apple for a crazy 1 million dollars for negligence. This million is apparently to cover her medical expenses and punitive damages…

“Paswall claims that she didn’t realize the she was walking into a wall of glass as she approached the store, and says that she broke her nose as a result of the collision. Her suit claims that “The defendant was negligent in allowing a clear, see-through glass wall and/or door to exist without proper warning.”

MacRumors pointed out that Apple does have white stickers marking the doors, but according to Evelyn’s attorney these are far from sufficient. Check out the picture of these white stickers above. (Coutesy of courtesy IFOAppleStore.)

I’m no expert, but it seems a bit ridiculous.  You’d think if the markings weren’t sufficient enough she’d walk into the side panels of the store window. Nope, this lady walked right dead smack in the middle of the doorway… Funny thing is, I can’t remember a time we’re I’ve been to an Apple Store that had the doors closed. Sometimes I forget they even have doors! Overall, I don’t think her financial justification is on point. I mean seriously 1 million dollars???

Do you think the lady should win?

Maybe she was heading in to buy a new iPad… She should have just signed up for our giveaway of a new iPad, which you can find out details about right here
